It's me again! I have not fallen off the face of the earth...yet! It's been SUPER busy around our house right now! We have repainted the entire thing!!! It's been in an effort to get it to sell, but it doesn't look like we are going any where anytime soon. Bah.

I have also joined something pretty cool! Have you heard of Macaroni Kid? It's a national network of local events newsletters for families!! I post a weekly(and yes, I've gotten it out on time!!) events newsletter of all the family friendly goings-on I can find. For me, it's another way to support families in my area, but it's also a great way to be connected to the community. So how's it hanging out in digiland? It's been slightly controlled chaos around here!

We've had a very busy couple of months, and there's been so much going on I have not had more than a few minutes to work on templates. I do have one for you today!

I am in the midst of working very hard on my certifications. I am working to become certified as a Labor Doula, Childbirth Educator, and Lactation Educator. Once I complete those certs, I will begin working on my certification as a Parenting Coach. I have also started attending births! I have two births under my belt as a doula!! YAY!! So, are you snowed in yet? We've gotten a good bit here in NC, but NOWHERE near what those of you in the Northeast have! If you are one of the ones snowed in, happy scrapping!

For this week, your scrapping prompt is Love. How is love shown in your home, by your parents, to your children, etc. Go ahead and scrap some Valentine's stuff, but also focus on the everyday ways that love is shown around your house. For me, I could scrap about how my rambunctious little 14 month old will occasionally stop what she is doing to come hug Mommy, or how my 4 year old(on Monday!! How is she growing up so fast???) will color a picture just for me. Focus on those little moments that you won't remember in 5 years, but that make today worthwhile.

For those that have offered encouragement while I have been nursing this challenging little one, thank you so much. We weaned last week, and while I am sad that we are done, it is SOOOOOOO nice to have my body back, and not worry AT ALL about what I am eating. I'm taking a couple days to not think about food, then next week will start working really hard to get the extra pregnancy weight off, since I could not diet because of her issues. I have my 10 year High School reunion coming up in June, and want to look awesome!!

Almost Feb?

How in the world is the first month of 2010 almost over? It is flying by around here! I finally have my website up and running for my Harmony business! Yay!! Here's the link if you want to check it out: www.harmonyparenting.com! I'm so giddy!!

We are hanging in here. Erin has almost finished this cycle of teething! We may get to sleep again sometime soon! I am working like crazy on getting my certifications finished, but it is amazingly difficult to find childcare for these munchkins while I am at a birth, and I have to attend 3 for my cert. I am hoping to have it done by the end of March.

I have been thinking a lot about my scrapping for this year. I wanted to make templates that focused on the ordinary, but have come to the conclusion that templates can be made into anything, so a specific focus won't really work for that. I've decided that I am going to simply continue with the templates as I have been, giving you freebies and then posting ones for sale in the store. For my focus this year, I will give you a prompt/challenge with each post to remind you to focus on the day to day reality you live.

This week's prompt is Your Relationships. Who means the most to you? What relationships get you through your day? Who do you rely on when you need that shoulder? Your challenge this post is to create a layout or book focusing on the people that add the spice to your life. For me, it's my little ones, my hubby, and the friends that I can rely on when this stage of life gets overwhelming. (ps. Don't forget to check the store for some great templates for this challenge!)

Happy New Year, Everyone!

Whew! It's been a looooong month around here! Between the Holidays, nasty colds, 8 teeth coming through, Family time and all, it's been busy! We are almost back into our routine, but its still a bit rough getting going in the morning! Have any of you made the family chart from Template 73? I LOVE ours!!! I feel so peaceful with my brain hanging on the wall, instead of trying to remember everything all the time. If you didn't get the template, you can find it in the store by clicking on the pic here:

So, who's given up on Project 365 so far? (raises hand) ME! I have come to terms with the fact that at this stage I just don't need something else to keep up with. Instead, I am going to make sure to focus on the everyday this year, because I know that someday I'm going to miss this time when they are so little and fun. I'll have some templates for the ordinary later on in the month.

Shh! It's a Christmas Surprise!

So....I didn't think I would be back for a while, but here I am. With the new year coming up, and me starting to work, I am trying to get as much organization in the house as possible. Let me tell you, it's REALLY easy to do while your house is on the market! (Please note the sarcasm...)

First of all, I have a new set in the store! The Circled Template Set contains 3 temps from the bonanza and a brand new one! Check it out HERE.

And why I am posting today, I made this chart for us, using One Memory At A Time @ GoDigitalScrapbooking.com's A Little Bit of This.

It is going to be hung in the middle of our home, right next to the phone, where everyone can see and keep track of what is going on. Every Sunday afternoon, I take about an hour to plan out our week. I figure out what we are having for dinner, what we need from the store, events and such...just do everything to get us organized. Now, I will have it all in one place instead of spread around the house. I also am putting clips on the bottom row to hang pages. I have my chore list(check out www.motivatedmoms.com if you need one) that will hang there, Kyla's school checklist, then a space for other stuff. I am going to take it to our local education store and have it laminated so I can use dry erase markers.

So, I thought, If I need a place to organize my brain, surely there is someone out in digiland that could use this too. So, here you go! It is a 30 by 20 inch template, and most enlargement places can print this size. I have mine printed at our local Sam's club for about $10.

One last thing, I used to have a very simple album set in the store, and have seen some of you make some awesome layouts with it. Unfortunately, when I named it I inadvertently used a trademarked name. As soon as I was alerted to the issue, I removed the album until I had a chance to redo the set and rename it. Where in the world did the last 3 months go??? Poof, and they were gone! My baby is one, our house is still on the market(bah humbug!), I am going crazy making Christmas presents, and I CAN EAT CHEESE!!!

Have you ever gotten in a routine, done really well with it, then something happens and your routine is gone? It seems like that happened with this blog. I was in a great routine making templates, keeping up with everything, then life went haywire in July and I have not been able to get back into a routine with this. IT is driving me CRAZY! I love making the temps, and seeing what you all make with them, and want to do this, but getting back into routine has not been easy! I am going to try to make a big effort to get back into doing this, but it will take a little while. This will probably be my only post between now and Christmas, maybe New Year's.

Is anyone out there going to do project 365 next year? I knew there was no way I would get it done this year with a newbie in the house, but really want to do a "Project 365-2010" album next year. We'll see if that actually happens!

Things have changed a little around our house. With looking at selling our house, the state of the economy, and the housing prices in the areas where we want to live, Jon and I have made a decision. It will take a lot of pressure off him as the sole provider, and I need to do something that gets me out of the house some! It's been 4 years since I became a Stay-at-home mom, and I am craving some other type of mental stimulation. I have wanted for a long time to help parents parent better, learn strategies for a peaceful home, and start their parenting career with confidence. With all that in mind, I am launching Harmony Birth and Parenting Services in January. I am really excited, and will have a link to my website soon. I will be doing pregnancy coaching, childbirth courses, providing doula support during labor, parent consulting, and teaching other classes and such. We will see where this takes us!

Howdy! I have not forgotten about my blog! I just want to check in and let you know I still exist. I am treading water right now, but we got the house listed (finally!) last night, so things should be calming down soon. Now we just need this place to sell! The girls are doing well, and E has almost popped another tooth through. She is also finally getting to where I can eat dairy again!!!! I feel like I have been through a war and survived!! It's Template Time!

How is everyone? It is simply crazy around here! We have a TOOTH! It has broken through, and E is finally calming down some. She is simply a child that has super highs and deep lows! I guess when you go out of your way to make someone's birth pretty unique, it is no wonder when they break all the molds from the start! (E was born at home - in the US, less than 1% of births are at home, on top of that, she was born after 42 weeks, which is pretty much unheard of!)

It seems like right now I am simply putting out whichever "fire" is the biggest and needs the most attention. Dishes-Laundry-packing-Kyla-Erin-cleaning out the house-Erin......you get the idea. We are working as hard as we can to get the house on the market before Jon goes back to school in the next 2 weeks. It seemed like a fairly easy thing 4 months ago when we decided to put it up for sale, but it is amazing how much there is to do, as we want to sell it for what our house is worth.

As for the garden, there is good news and bad news. Some things have done pretty well, and others have failed miserably! My tomatoes, cantelope, and pumpkins have been total failures. Our soil just is not good enough to sustain them. The squash, zuch, and peppers are about mediocre, and my cukes and beans have done really well. My herbs did a pretty good job, with the stevia growing the best. We think our soil is just not that great, and will work more on it next year. All in all, I have learned a TON. This was supposed to be my learning year, so it was well worth it. The funniest part, my mom has never wanted to garden, but I took her to Lowe's with me enough she was inspired to do her own. Her's has done fantastic, and put mine to shame!!

How was your weekend? Mine was great! I feel so accomplished, as I finished 8! layouts! I am working on catching up on some of the scrapping that fell by the wayside thanks to E's lovely pregnancy, and it feels so good to get it done!

Hi! I am going to post this now, so that I can take some time to get ready to crop tomorrow night. I am soooo excited to go to my first digicrop! I haven't done any crops for the last 8 months, as I finished my last paper album, and couldn't convince Jon it would be fine to take the full pc. (I guess he was right, it wouldn't be all that practical!)

For those I goofed up with the template numbers, fear not! I saved them in the order I worked on them, but posted them differently. I wanted to post today's template with a new item for the store, and didn't quite have it ready last night.

The Perpetual Calendar Template!

If you like to scrap with a calendar, this is the last one you will ever have to buy! It has seven different numeral layers, so you can turn on the one that matches your month. All you have to do is figure out the day of the week the month starts on, and go from there! You can also turn off the extra day spaces, or use them to add more photos. I did the tedious work, you add the fun! (click on the pic to go to the store)

You would think, being that I have a small digital business, I might know a thing or two about networking. Nope! We installed a wireless router ourselves, which was just asking for trouble. Of course it had some bugs to work out, and after a while on the automated help system, I can upload items again! Woot! We have things set up where I can access our main pc using the laptop, but haven't figured out how to access the laptop from the main pc.

Erin is "saying" her first word! She has found her voice, and is now making a lot of "m" sounds. It sounds a lot of the time like she is saying "Mama"! I know it is just practicing her voice, but it is so cute (or pitiful when she does it while she is whiny!!).

Also, I most likely will not be posting each day. I just can't make it work daily with this little one right now. She is at a stage where I just can't get everything done like I could when she was not mobile! I'm back, and ready to scrap! How have you all been the past couple weeks? We are all finally feeling a-o-k, and ready to return to the land of the living. Thankfully, Erin did not get sick, although she has been dealing with teething the past couple days. Kyla was diagnosed with croup and we put her on prednisone to help keep her from coughing so terribly. It worked like a charm, but I thought the kid was going to eat us out of house and home while she was on it! One night, my picky-I-only-eat-enough-to-keep-a-bird-alive toddler ate THREE piece of pizza, a salad, and a popsicle! Remind me NEVER to take this medicine - I'd end up as big as a house! I never got the fullblown virus, but was just soooo tired it was all I could do to keep up with the kidlets.

In other news, I FINALLY GOT MY LAPTOP!!!! Crops, here I come!! I am waiting on DH to install the wireless router, then I will be totally up and running with it. I have noticed a few minor issues switching between my pc and laptop, so if any goofs show up in a template by accident, let me know! I am just soooo incredibly excited to no longer be tied down in the office. Yippee!

Other things to report:

Erin, at just 7 months, pulled up to standing 2 days ago. She is now a pro at getting up, but not down, so is easily frustrated. However, when she gets herself up, she is so thrilled she just bangs like crazy on whatever she is holding onto.

One of the moms from my local online community has become a published author! We have been reading her stories on our site for a while, so I am soooo excited for her:

My Granny did pass this past weekend. I am sad that she is gone, but almost relieved that she is not so weakened anymore. When she was so sick in June, I went to see her, and was so sad about how weak she was. She has always been a little ball of energy, and that part of her was gone. Her funeral is in the morning. I am going to go by myself, and Jon will stay here with the girls. There are some religious differences between the branches of our family, and I don't want to even try to explain things to K yet. She and E are both too young to even understand death, so this will be my time to mourn her. This is one of my favorite pics with her, taken at my wedding in 03:

I am having milk supply issues...again. Nursing will never be easy for me, so this is just one more thing I have to deal with. K weaned earlier than I wanted too, b/c my supply dropped and I didn't know it until it was too late. This time, I knew what to look for, so we have caught it early enough to try to remedy.

What not to do when you have a baby.....

Make chili. I made chili tonight from scratch, which included cutting up several peppers and all. I made dinner, washed my hands several times, and then we ate. After dinner, we were all sitting on the sofa having movie night, and Erin was sitting on my lap. She is teething so I gave her my fingers to chew on. Big Mistake. The oils from the peppers had not washed off all the way, and her poor little mouth was all spiced up! Other than milk, she has only had juice and grapes at this point, so the poor baby had no clue what was going on. She looked at me with her face all scrunched up, and with red eyes and tears rolling down her face. I felt like the worst mommy in the world!!!!

Time for Tea!

We had the nicest day today! One of Kyla's little playgroup friends had a tea party for all the little girls in the group today. It was so sweet! They all dressed up(even most of the mommies too!), and each had their own teacup. We each had real napkins and everything! After tea, we were able to spend some time playing and catching up with each other. Since E's birth, we have dropped out of group in the mornings, just b/c it is too much right now.

I also spent some (more) time in the garden this afternoon. I ate my first cucumber!!! It was soooooooooo yummy!! Next year, I think I am going to plant at least double the cuke plants I did this year. My lunch each day will be to walk outside and pick a cuke for a salad. I also went ahead and pulled up our lettuce and sugar peas. They were both about done, and the lettuce just did not do well. I think I planted it too late. The same went for the peas. I got about a cup of peas for the patch I planted. I will never take the supermarket for granted again, as it took me an hour to shell the peas!! I pruned my stevia and basil plants, so those leaves are in the oven drying..... I can truly now say that I loove gardening!

Soo...it may not Technically still be Tuesday where I am, but I haven't gone to bed yet, so it still counts for me! It has been a crazy couple of days here! Apparently when the power company repaired the tree fall, they did not connect something correctly, so the power was blinking on and off, and it took them a while to figure it out. I could not use the pc, as I was not about to spend time working on something to have it erased, and damage my "outlet to the world". I am saving for a laptop(and biding my time for Windows 7), so hopefully soon things like this won't be a big deal at all!

In other news, I want to kiss the feet of the higher-ups at Earth Balance! They have come out with a new "butter spread" that is dairy and soy free! It has been impossible to find a butter substitute, as they all have some dairy or soy in them, until now! I was able to make chocolate chip cookies for the first time in 6 months! I actually had tears in my eyes as I ate them! The spread comes really close to the true taste of butter, and worked really well. The only downside I have noticed is that it liquifies pretty quickly as it warms, which really doesn't matter when I can make COOKIES!! Can anyone tell I am excited about this??(If you can't, consider this: I had to special order it by the case from a natural foods store b/c noone is carrying it yet. I have 11 tubs of it in the fridge!)

A rabbit got into the yard today, and ate almost all of my purple bean plants!!! I had just planted them last week, and they were looking so healthy. I am going to have to get some mesh to line the fence with now. Sigh. It is amazing how much work goes into growing food! I will never again take the food in the store for granted again!

HI Everyone!

I am almost caught up with this post! Tomorrow, I will have two templates for you, then Wednesday, we will return to the one template a day routine.

I have good news. I spoke to my dad today, and they were releasing Granny from the hospital! I hope to get back to see her in the next couple days. We were going to go today, but with her being released, it didn't work out time wise.

In other news, there was a stinky reason for no post last night. My garden tried to take me out while I was working in one of the flower beds yesterday afternoon! We had tilled the soil, then laid out landscape fabric to get rid of weeds and all. My hubby also has a bunch of stone and stuff lining the bed b/c he is working on a walking path. I was standing in the bed, and when I went to turn to step over all the stone, my feet got tangled and I fell on top of the stone. OUCH!!! I have a welt about the size of a baseball on my hip, and the rest of me is bruised and sore. I am very thankful, however, as I fell on the one part of the yard that was just stone. I had tools(shovels, rake, hoe, scissors, etc) scattered all over the place, and could have been really hurt. As it is, I am moving like I am 90, and Kyla asked me today if I was hurt REALLLY bad when I tried to get off the sofa. Fun stuff to add to a fun week.....

All of this gardening is starting to pay off! I now have baby cukes, peppers, tomatoes, squash, and green beans growing and some of my other beans and vines are flowering!! It is sooooooo exciting to see the actual fruits of my labor! I made Jon leave his tv show yesterday afternoon to come outside and see all my little things!

In other news, I am taking the kids tomorrow to paint pottery! My best bud is off for the summer(she's a teacher), so we get to hang out with her and her boys. We have 4 kids between us, one born each year for the past 4 years. I told her this was her year for another, but she seems to be holding out on me, which is probably a good thing, as I will not be ready for another next year!!!

I went out in the garden this afternoon, and the stinkin little bugs attacked! I have bites EVERYWHERE! I am not kidding. They bit me through my pants!!! On the good side, I have everything in the ground for this season that I wanted to get in!!! I still have about 4 feet where I can add plants, so I am going to visit the farmer's Market this week.

How are you all? It's been another fun day around here! We had a good rain last night, and the garden looks so happy today! I am soooooo excited, as our green beans(Pole, Blue Lake variety) are creeping up the lines I put on the fence, and are at least 4 feet tall now! It is so much fun to see the leaves creeping up!

Jon and I are going on a date tonight! Sunday is our 6 year anniversary, and we were given Outback giftcards for Christmas. I can eat a steak and fries, so we are going all out tonight!

B/c of my anatomy, when she is nursing, I can't do anything else. We are still not unpacked from last week! I did discover a new bump on her gums yesterday, so I am assuming it is either a growth spurt or her teeth.

I seriously have a major issue. I have been home not even 48 hours, things are still unpacked, and I can't get out of the garden! I LOVE seeing it all coming up! It is 10:30 at night here, and I am wanting to go plant some more! Last night I could not sleep, and ended up getting back on the pc and ordering MORE seeds. How can I not have asparagus beans in my garden? I just have to have them!!!!! By the end of the season, I am going to have canned veggies for sale in my store if everything grows well! I will post some pics as soon as DH has the yard mowed. It is pretty bad b/c we were gone!

Wow! Can you believe that we are halfway through the bonanza? Only 34 more templates for you to collect until we get to the album at the end!

It feels so good to be home! Jon went to church this morning, and I stayed here with the girls. I just could not make E endure any more time running. I went out and spent more time in the garden. Grass has now become my nemesis! The area that we are planting in was yard just a couple months ago, so all the grass is not completely gone. As soon as my plants are good and healthy, I am planning to put newspaper down between the rows and mulch on top of it. Until then, I will just deal with it. It rained almost every day while we were gone, and my plants have gone crazy! My beans especially have taken off. I spent several hours out there today thinning them all out. My corn has also done really well so far, and is about 18 inches tall! I will get out there and take some pics soon!

Whew. That was a trip!! No tickets or accidents to report, and in general it was a nice, boring trip. We spent the night in Nashville last night, and went to Opry Mills. There is a restaurant there called the Aquarium Restaurant, and it has a HUGE aquarium in the middle of it. The whole theme is fish, and Kyla LOVED it!! Erin could not stop just staring at the fish either. We left this morning and stopped in Pigeon Forge for lunch. After lunch, I insisted we stop at the huge scrapbooking store they have there. I was very disappointed to not find ANY digiscrap stuff. Pooh. I did get some good ideas while I was there though, so be on the look out!!

Hello! We go home tomorrow!!!!! We will leave here in the morning and spend the night in Nashville with my sister. We'll get up Saturday and be home that afternoon! WOOHOO!!! My own bed!!!! (BTW, here's a little life hint to stick in the back of your mind: If you purchase a wonderful super soft mattress for your home, you will never be completely comfortable when travelling, but going home will be FANTASTIC!!!)

It has been a good trip, even though little miss "I love to party all night" Erin has thrown a few wrenches in the plans. I do have a funny story to tell y'all, that only those who read my blog/spend their free time scrapping will understand fully! Yesterday, E was not being the most cooperative, so I stayed at the Inlaw's house for her to nap. Jon, K, and my MIL went to a neighbor's lake to fish. It was K's first time fishing, so I insisted that they take the camera. When they came home, I asked if he had remembered to take pics, and he kind of laughed. I was a bit worried, but didn't even have time to check out the pics. I looked at them today and they are pretty good, but I did not see areason for the laugh. I asked J about it, and he said that they were all packed up, and heading to the car when he remembered to take pics. He got a fishing pole back out, and posed K for the pics, just because he knew I would want to scrap them!!! Has he learned or what?!!!!

I am going to go ahead and post today and tomorrow's templates tonight. I don't know if I will have access at my sister's house tomorrow, so I will just leave them all up until we are home on Saturday(sat's may be up pretty late). Please pray for safe travels(and my sister's boyfriend, he is going to get the third degree tomorrow night!).

Hello Digiworld! I am in a much better frame of mind today! It is amazing the difference that a good night's sleep makes. This morning was church, then we had a good country Memorial Day picnic. It is really interesting to see the difference with holidays in city life and country life. At home, noone really makes that big a deal about Memorial Day, here it is a HUGE observance. The only damper on the day was me having to bring a salad and grilled chicken and not eating any of the potluck food. This girl has NO CLUE what kind of sacrifices I am making for her!! She had better pick an AMAZING nursing home someday!!!

There was a comment left about cutting the templates in half for printing. I do design the temps with cutting them in mind, but don't always keep everything out of the middle. I make sure the text does not cross, and only do a portion of the picture space across the 12 inch line. If you are concerned about an important portion of your picture being cut off, simply turn on your grid and rulers (View>Grid) and you can see where the measurements line up. Simply Yin also has a good guide on her page that you can check out HERE.

Hi! You know, on paper this day does not sound too bad: Dr's appointment, lunch, pick up beef from butcher, naps, neighborhood meeting, stop at Target for diapers(since i am a cloth diaper flunky at the moment!), and get gas doesn't sound too bad. It's when you throw in the getting up early, taking two kids along for most of it(one of them being a nursing 5 month old), non-napping kids, and picking up my mom as an extra set of hands that it gets really crazy! Whew! We ordered 1/4 of a (grass fed, humanely treated)cow along with some other families, and yesterday was our day to pick it up. Our deep freeze is almost full! I am so excited about knowing where our beef comes from!

Hello digiworld! I've had a very busy day here!! Want a momfession for the day? I realized as I was matching socks today, I have not matched socks since THANKSGIVING!!! The pair that has turkeys on it that I wore to T-day lunch was still in there! My poor hubby!! I told him about it when he got home from work, and he said he actually considered buying socks to make sure he had some! (I guess him actually matching them himself was not even on his radar! :) ) At least I do have the excuse that Erin was born 4 days later....

It's Official. I am counting down to the end of pollen season! I went and got masks yesterday so I could work in the garden without inhaling everything and having a reaction. It worked great, and I was out there for almost 2 hours. Just as I was finishing, my hubby came to the back door with my cell phone. It was a call that I had been waiting on, so I sat on the edge of our fire pit(concrete block and brick, makes a great seat), took the mask off without thinking, and talked for about half an hour. Where's the anvil hitting itself in the head emoticon when I need it?!?! Needless to say, I've been pretty worthless today.

So, here's your template, and then I am off to sleep since Jon(Hubby) is now home and can corral the munchkins!

The Album:

A little info about the template. I have added frames to the photo spaces in this template, but to save space, I have the frame and photo on the same layer. When I made the album, I added the frames so you can see the photo spaces clearly. There are three ways you can put in your photos:

1. Use the Magic Wand, Paste Into Selection method to insert your photos into the space and preserve the frame. (For more info on this method, see the first tutorial on my tutorial page)
2. Use each layer as a cutting mask, eliminating the frame. If you want to add a frame once you have used the clipping mask, I used the stroke, inside at 30 pixels for each frame.
3. Add a layer on top of each photo space, insert your picture there, and leave the frame visible below.

Hello Digiworld! Happy Tuesday! For me, and every woman in the state of North Carolina, today is indeed a happy day! The North Carolina Friends of Midwives has been trying to get a bill passed that would license Certified Professional Midwives. As it stands right now, access to a legal homebirth attendant is not possible for most women in our state. Getting this bill passed will change that! Today, the bill passed the committee vote, and is going to be heard on the floor of the House in the next 2 days. So, if any of you scrappers are from the state of NC, and you want to help get this bill passed, please call your reps in the next couple days, and urge passage of HB333!!

Hi! Thank you for the well wishes! Well, that was a fun 24 hours! I am severely allergic to Oak trees and Fescue grass, and this is the top time of year for both of them. I was outside for a little while at church yesterday morning, and by the time I got home, my eyes were starting to water. I ended up with a migraine headache from all the pressure and everything. Yuck! Thankfully, the reaction tapered off by about 2 this afternoon, and I am feeling like a new woman!

This is from my family's Thanksgiving last year. The hugely pregnant woman is me! I was actually 12 days past my due date at this point! I had only gone to 39 weeks and 3 days with my first, so I fully expected to have Erin by Thanksgiving. I had even bought her a "Babies First Thanksgiving" outfit to wear that day! I ended up wearing it for a photo, simply trying to keep some humor in the situation. By the end of lunch, I was truly STUFFED! Erin did not make her appearance for another 4 days!!

Hey! Thank you to everyone who posted and emailed about the Box lagtime and Google Reader. Just when I think I have a handle on technology, I am reminded that I will never catch up!

We have had a lazy day here, as Erin decided sleep was not something she was interested in last night! I didn't get to bed until around 4, as she was up every 45 minutes. She has reflux on top of the MSPI, and one of the things we discussed at the dr yesterday was upping her meds a tiny bit. I think we are going to go ahead and do so, as she acted like she just could not get comfy and settle last night.

Here's today's template!

I was in the garden mood! Last night I went out and got more corn, cantelope, pumpkins, and more sugar snap peas in the ground. It has been rainy the past couple days, so it felt like I was digging in a mud hole. Unfortunately, I was out at dusk, so got a bunch of mosquito bites. Ugh. This food had better grow and be great!!

Howdy! Before I get to the template, I have to tell you about my great day! Our day started off with dentist appts for both my oldest daughter and me. My teeth look good(great accomplishment after a rough pregnancy in which I couldn't take my prenatals!) and Kyla did such a GREAT job! This was her first time to the dentist(she just turned 3), and she acted like such a big girl! I am sooo proud of her today!

After visiting the dentist, we grabbed lunch then headed to the pediatric office for both K and Erin's well checks. They both checked out as super healthy! I am especially thrilled about E b/c we have been a bit concerned about her gaining weight due to the milk/soy protein intolerance. She is in the 90th percentile!!!!! I am sooooooooo excited! I usually don't pay much attention to that stuff, but it just made my day today!

Moms give so much of themselves to their children, and part of that giving is by showing them how to be passionate. Moms, what are you passionate about? I know you are passionate about your kids, but what else do you model for them? For me, my passions include:

Crafts(granted, this does end up being about the kids most of the time, dresses for the girls, scrapbooking, yada yada. In the end though, it is the drive for creating that I LOVE),
my faith,
living naturally[eating healthy foods, natural remedies before drugs, cloth diapers, organic gardening, non GMO foods](goes hand in hand with my faith),
homebirth(for those outside the US, homebirth is actually seen as crazy and weird here. for me, it was one of the top experiences of my life!),
breastfeeding(both making it happen for my daughters, and helping other women who are having issues with nursing), and
parenting.

Motherhood has changed and helped mold my passions, so what has it done with yours?

Hello Digiworld! The 100 download limit for Template #15 was reached in only 5 hours today! I have had a couple emails asking why the link was pulled so quickly, and wanted to make sure everyone knows the "rules". For the duration of the Template Bonanza, every freebie that is posted, is only up for the first 100 downloads, then the link is pulled. After that, the freebie will be available in the store(link is to the top right of your screen). Sometimes the freebie is part of a set, other times it is part of an album. The freebies that don't belong to any particular group will be grouped together and sold as a set.

I went ahead and put the freebie from yesterday into a set with Templates #10 and 11, and have put it in the store. I have also added 3 that have not, and will not, be released in the Temp Bonanza! Hi digiworld! Did everyone have a wonderful weekend? We did here, although, I do believe this garden is going to be the death of me between the physical work and my allergies!! My wonderful hubby spent several hours yesterday tilling up the grass he has spent several years trying to grow, without any complaining! We now have gardening beds almost all the way around the perimeter of our fence. I am going to post pics soon, but want to post more than just dirt and the fence! I got the sunflowers, corn, sugar snap peas, and some onions in last night, and am literally praying that they will grow! I have more to get out this afternoon, but am battling a sinus headache, so it may not happen today.

How about an announcement? Look what's going on this week!

This is the week before Mother's Day here in the US, and I want to celebrate and honor moms this week. I am going to go out on a limb here and guess that most of you who venture the direction of this blog are at some stage of mothering(Dont' Miss the poll to the left!), whether you are trying to become a mom or you are into the grandparent stages. This journey of motherhood has been the hardest, most wonderful journey I have ever been on, with much more to come. I have been in childcare and education(babysitting/nanny/teaching) for the past 15 years, and there is nothing that could have prepared me for the love and challenge of mothering these two little girls. Now, I want to hear your story!

I want to you to tell me what mothering has taught you. If you are not a mom (don't want kids, in the process of trying, dealing with infertility, just not where you are in life yet), tell me about your mom, and what watching her has taught you. If Mother's Day is painful for you, please, don't feel like you can't contribute. You are welcome to tell your story as well. Here you go! Man, it's been a busy past 48 hours! I am coming to the realization that Erin can tolerate a tiny bit of dairy without acting like she is hurting, but her intolerance shows when she tries to sleep. She went almost 7 hours last night without a nap! Every time I tried to lay her down, she would roll over at me and laugh! That was F.U.N.(Can you see the sarcasm dripping from your screen? :) ) She did finally go to sleep around 12, so we got some rest last night.

Today the adventure was eating out at a restaurant for lunch. I ordered a sandwich that had fried chicken, marinara, mozzarella, and bread. I told him that I had a dairy allergy(much easier than explaining the whole MSPI thing), so asked for the chicken grilled, no breading, then just the marinara and plain bread. He brings out a grilled breast with sauce, cheese, and butter on the bread. ?!!!! Ok, maybe he did not hear me. I was really nice, and sent the sandwich back, telling him I had an allergy, and could not have ANY dairy. They bring me back the grilled chicken and marinara on BUTTERED bread!!! ARG!!! Eventually the manager got it straightened out, but it was a pain! I'm going back to soup for lunch...at home!

It's official! Growing a garden is not for sissies! Being a glutton for punishment, I spent most of the afternoon out building a "trellis"(in quotes b/c I used nylon cord and hooks, not wood), and planting. I am going to feel this tomorrow!!

Whew. I am officially out of shape! Last summer, My husband built us a beautiful fence around the back yard. I have wanted to go all out on gardening, but have waited to get the fence up. Well, yesterday, I worked for about 5 hours in the yard, and have two of the beds ready! The downside is, this is the most physical work I have done since Erin's (home)birth in November, and that was after a rough pregnancy where making it through the day was an accomplishment! It's sad when even your fingers are sore!!!

She is getting better with dairy, although she's still pretty sensitive to soy. This has been a big challenge for me, so I have to celebrate making it this far somewhere!

Charles Manson, Scrapbooking, and Template Bonanza #3

I'll bet you never thought you would see those phrases together! This is the story about how I have now learned to Google the title of every single thing I put on this blog.

You see, I want to make template albums. I want to make scrapbooking easy for everyone who happens by my little portion of this world wide web. I also want to give those albums names that will catch your eye, and reflect what the album is about. What I don't want to do is to give them names that will make you instantly think of bad things, but apparently I did so without even realizing it.

My mom came over today to hang out with the munchkins, and I wanted to show her my blog. (I am a wee bit proud of it... :) ) We were going through everything, and she asked me why I named the album in my store "Helter Skelter." I told her why, as it was the first thing that came to mind after I finished the first template. I'm from the south. My entire life, if something was crooked, it was "all helter skelter." I don't follow serial killers, read their books, or even watch the detective shows on tv. I did for a little while as a teen, but the imagination is too active, and I can't sleep if I do. That being the case, I had no idea that "Helter Skelter" had anything to do with Charles Manson. That was "before my time." Oh well, I have to look on the bright side, now at least you 'll remember this blog!!! (By the way, you can find the album in my store. The link is in the right sidebar at the top.)

Alright, back to our regularly scheduled (and innocently named) template bonanza!

I'm back!!! After a year long hiatus, THE PAPER IRIS is back and busy!! To kick off my return to the digi-world, I am going to start an unprecedented(at least to my knowledge) template GIVEAWAY!!!! That's right, FREE STUFF COMING RIGHT UP!!!

I'm Lesli, the brain of The Paper Iris. I am a Mom (2 Super Sweet Little Girls-Please forgive me in advance for the overwhelmingly girly designs!), Wife, Former Nanny, Aspiring Parent Coach and an assistant to my Real Estate Agent Hubby. I was introduced to Digiscrapping 2 years ago, and it has taken over! I have been a scrapper for years, and love working with our photos on the computer.

I generally create templates, with a kit thrown in here or there. I find myself scrapping events with an "album" mindset, so that is what I will share with you. I will offer freebies from time to time, then they will be for sale as sets. My mission is to make scrapping as easy as possible for those that love the art, but want to also be able to keep up with life. My hope is that you will find something useful here for your digi-adventures, whether you are brand new, or an old hat(as in to scrapping, not age....) ;).
